I Hate Hackers

I hate hackers. What did I ever do to them?
Many of my sites were hacked recently and I had to spend a lot of time figuring out where the problems were. I ended up trying to close possible security holes and reposting dozens of compromised web pages and files. I believe the breach has been remedied, but the event has not been without consequence.
My sites generally enjoyed good page rank and search engine index placement; however, virtually all of my sites were being redirected to less than reputable locations for a couple of weeks while infected by the hacks. In that time, it appears that the search engines penalized my sites. Some of the ones that had the best page ranks are now at zero page rank. Frustrating.
There isn’t much I can do other than try to rebuild their value naturally and with respectable methods. It’s just a bummer that all the legitimate work I put into these sites over the years could be wiped out that quickly by the shenanigans of some unscrupulous punks.
